Exciting Additions to Assetto Corsa Competizione: Red Bull Ring and GT2 Car Pack Unveiled

In an unexpected turn of events, Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) enthusiasts are in for a double treat with the upcoming release of the Red Bull Ring and the GT2 Car Pack on January 24, 2024. This surprise announcement follows the addition of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in April 2023, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next big update.

Initially, the racing community had its sights set on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which was confirmed in November, marking a significant moment for ACC fans. However, ahead of the Nordschleife's debut, the Red Bull Ring, nestled in the Styrian mountains, steals the spotlight.

The 2.7-mile circuit, formerly known as the Österreichring and A1-Ring, has a rich history, hosting the Austrian Grand Prix from 1970 to 1987 and making a comeback in 2014.

For a track to be featured in ACC, it must be part of an SRO Motorsports Group-sanctioned series' schedule. The Red Bull Ring, having hosted the GT2 European Series in 2022 and 2023, aligns with this criterion. The GT2 Car Pack will include six formidable vehicles:

  1. Audi R8 LMS GT2
  2. KTM X-Bow GT2
  3. Maserati MC20 GT2
  4. Mercedes-AMG GT2
  5. Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo
  6. Porsche 935 (2019)
However, the Brabham BT62/BT63 will not be part of the pack due to the cessation of collaboration between the Brabham Group and Brabham Automotive.
While the PC release is set for January 24, the console release date is yet to be confirmed. The cost of the GT2 Car Pack remains unknown at this time.
The anticipation for the ACC GT2 Pack has been building, and the confirmed lineup of vehicles is as follows:

  1. Audi R8 LMS GT2

The Brabham BT63 GT2 will not be included due to the recent end of production of Brabham Automotive.

These high-performance vehicles, set to be released on January 24, boast increased top speeds but trade off some cornering performance compared to the GT3 class. Each car's power and weight figures are subject to Balance of Performance changes.

The GT2 European Series in 2023 featured all the new additions, with the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo GT2 being the only exception not part of the DLC. However, the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO 2 from the Challengers Pack could fill this gap effectively.

As the release date approaches, the question arises: could there be more to the ACC GT2 Pack? Previous DLCs for ACC have included new tracks, and speculations arise regarding potential additions like Hockenheimring, Red Bull Ring, or Portimão.

Are you excited about the upcoming ACC GT2 Pack and the inclusion of the Red Bull Ring?
